Not a petfood industry person, but you started following me on Twitter, so I'm checking out your site. I ama medical doctor who has written a book about using your relationship with your dog to promote better health, called Fit As Fido: Follow Your…
Re your comment on Fit as Fido - reminds me of the woman who owns the school where I train my dogs. She's commented she should create a video called "Sweatin' with your pet" featuring the sometimes silly-looking things we do while training some behaviors.
Hi Dr. Marcus:
Welcome to Petfood-Connection! I'm the editor-in-chief of Petfood Industry, the entity behind this site, so I'm probably not the kind of petfood person you want to connect with in terms of co-promotions. But your comment caught my eye because at our recent conference, Petfood Forum (which we also own and organize), several speakers talked about the link between pet ownership and human health and the growing body of research affirming it. One whom I know has a strong interest in this topic is Marty Becker, DVM, who was our keynote speaker and is the veterinary contributor to Good Morning America. (You can find out more at www.drmartybecker.com.) Another person you might want to connect with is David Lummis, senior pet market analyst for Packaged Facts, a market research firm. (I can connect you with him if you're interested.)
I would also suggest that to try and connect with more people on this site, ones who might offer co-promotion opportunities, you might want to go into some of the group pages and start a discussion thread and/or post a comment. Groups that might be relevant include Market Trends and Marketing.
Thanks again for your interest!
