Why is the petfood market in Asia still growing?
No part of the global economy has been immune to the recession--not any specific industry nor region. But the good news for our industry is that petfood has weathered the storm relatively well and even has grown in most parts of the world.
From 2004-2009, the Asia-Pacific petfood market grew 18.6%, according to Euromonitor, and is projected to grow another 17.2% over the next five years.
What's behind this dynamic rise? Established petfood markets like Japan, plus up-and-comers like Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia and China, all among the 10 fastest growing markets for petfood, Euromonitor says.
